1967: The N.K.O.A. is formed and has it's 1st. meeting in February at the Y.M.C.A. in Covington, Ky.
Gene Neal is elected as the N.K.O.A.'s 1st. President.
1968: Board approves the design and implementation of an association "Oval Patch" to be displayed on the hat.
1969: Association moves meetings to DeVue Park Golf Course Club House.

1975: One of the N.K.O.A. Founding Father's Gordon McGehee passes away.
1976: Dan Sullivan becomes new Assigning Secretary for the N.K.O.A.
1977: Board approves association hat patch changed to "Diamond Patch"

1979:  
1980: Sue Egan becomes the first female high school football official in the State of Kentucky.
1981: Stan Steidel become new Assigning Secretary for the N.K.O.A.
Association moves meetings to Dayton High School.

1987:  
1988: N.K.O.A. Official Denny Ferguson passes away. Association approves the change and design of the new association "Round Patch". Also approving the design of a memorial patch in honor of Denny Ferguson. First time this had ever been done.
1989:  
1990: Sue Egan referee's her first varsity high school game between Owen County and Millersburg Military.

1995: Tommy Thompson - finalist KHSAA Official of the Year
1996: Terry Williams - finalist KHSAA Official of the Year
1997: Terry Williams - finalist KHSAA Official of the Year
1998: Association moves meetings to Holmes High School.
1999: Tommy Thompson - Inducted in National Football Foundation/College Football Hall of Fame
Matt Young - KHSAA Official of the Year
2000: Sue Egan becomes first female official in the United States to wear the referee's white hat
in a state championship game.
Sue Egan - finalist KHSAA Official of the Year
2001: Chuck Smith - KHSAA Official of the Year
2002: N.K.O.A. Official Ray Bosse passes away.
Joe Frank - finalist KHSAA Official of the Year
2003:  
2004: N.K.O.A. has 1st NKOA Spring Training Clinic for officials.

2005: Jack Johnson - finalist KHSAA Official of the Year
2006: Association moves meetings to Beechwood High School.
2007: Matt Young - nominated KHSAA Official of the Year
